swithing from cal hypo to bleach????

how long do you have to wait to start using bleach if you have just sanitized with cal hypo? days or just until your chlorine level goes down. nervous about the switch but am trusting the info. on this site.any other info. greatly appreciated

Your pool will never know you switched except for the fact it won't be getting any more calcium. I assume that's your purpose.

Oh yeah, you'll get some funny looks at the grocery store, too.

How much and what bleach would be used in a 28,000 gallon pool?

For a pool with a PF of 4.3 (yours!), 1 gallon of 8.25% bleach (typical Walmart concentration, currently), containing about 0.6 lbs of chlorine gas equivalent, would add 4.3 x 0.6 ppm free chlorine to your pool . . . or 2.6 ppm FC.

Bleach initially raises the pH a bit, but after the chlorine is consumed, the pH drops back to the original value.
