    Default Trying to buy a pool -- is there pool comparison info?

    Hello,
    I havent even bought yet.
    Thanks in advance to anyone helping me out. Gonna be the first pool and I am sure all info I need can be found somewhere here.
    Problem is that is is very overwhelming to worry about everything at once. Brand, filter type, BBB system, Liner over or under, resin, al, steel....

    Ive read the sticky info and surfed around before becoming a member. But see alot of it is from 2006 and such. Has much changed?
    Also is there any list of the top 4 or 5 pool brands, or a review posted here. I have a list of names and the more I read I add another name.
    Adding a pool because I am financially not doing as well so kids are going to have to stay home and have fun there. I am just so afraid of screwing up and buying the wrong pool.

    Ive even considered used on ebay???

    Hi, and welcome to the forum.

    Although a lot of this info is dated for a few years ago, what you see around here is still valid. The best avice I can give you is to search around the forum (if you can see the blue links in my sig, use the Google search function linked there, although you may have to log out at first to be able to see the results--once your registration is complete, you should be able to see the whole forum without logging out). Good luck on your purchase!! (BTW, just a piece of info--if you buy a used liner pool, and the liner has already been installed once, you need to plan on replacing the liner--they don't empty, move, and then set up again very well.

    Hi Mark;

    There's little reliable comparison information among AG pools, so the only advice I can offer is learn what you can, and be a skeptical buyer.

    Actually, there is one other option: the pool season is likely to be over before you can have a pool selected and build. BUT, you can go to Sams or where-ever and pick up an 18' or larger Intex pool, and use that, almost immediately. If you are careful on startup -- and we can help -- you can enjoy that pool all this year, and next summer as well. In that time period you can become a skilled pool operator and a knowledgeable buyer, and have fun at the same time.

    Hi all,My son is planning on setting up a AG pool next year. He is looking at DoughBoy and EsterWilliams as possible installations. does anyone have info that I can pass on to him regarding these pools? I'm guessing it will be 18x32 with deck on 1 side.
    Thanks for the advice,
