I would just wait to take the sample until a day that the pool store is open. But, go ahead and get some bleach in there. You don't want to wait on that.
OK Leslies was open.... "Yeah"

**As a note** The clerk recommended I purchase and use “clarifier” and brush up the submerged sentiment. Stating the clarifier would keep it the water allowing the filter to remove the particles. Additionally she recommended I should shock EOD until clear…
Hi DeepSouth;
Add 1 of those jugs of bleach to the pool -- about 12 ppm -- and then brush the pool, and deliberately stir up the algae. Wait 1 hour, and test with OTO. If the chlorine is still above 5 ppm, you're kids can swim AS LONG AS YOU WATCH THEM. People get lost in cloudy pools! (See article here, and picture of cloudy water, here .)
But, as long as you've got good chlorine levels, the pool is sanitary.
Tonight, add ANOTHER gallon, and brush again. That will likely kill all remaining algae. BUT, you still need to MAINTAIN a constant chlorine level in the pool for it to be safe to use.

Also, run the pump 24/7 while you are working to clear this up.
Notice that Ben did NOT suggest you use the clarifier....So don't, please
