    Default Mineral Springs reading 4300

no matter what I do, the reading stays at 4300 and the no flow light stays on. Drained about 8-10" of water out and replaced with fresh water. took cell apart and cleaned it. re-connected cell and the reading is still 4300. really trying to avoid buying new cell. could there be anything I am missing?

Took me a minute to find out that "Mineral Springs" is just BioGuard's hokey attempt to have a 'me-too' salt water chlorine generator. Their program is just a standard SWCG program with borax.

Anyhow, BioGuard doesn't make those units, and I don't know who does. I think you might want to call them -- BioGuard that is -- for all their hokey marketing, they have had some pretty good customer support folks in the past, and they are going to have way more access to info about that unit than I do.

Over the past few years, as Chemtura (and all its predecessors) has had a harder and harder time positioning their flag ship product line (BioGuard) as the "Rolls-Royce" products of the pool industry, they've made it harder and harder for anyone to get accurate info about their products. You can't even get an MSDS on for their chemicals on the Internet any more.

So . . . accurate info is going be available from them, if at all. Their phone number is BioGuard Customer Care - 1.800.932.5943 . You should feel very free to call them, given the premium they charge for their products.

    Good luck!

    Ben

    Welcome to the Forum!

Goldline (now bought by Hayward) makes the Mineral Springs unit and it's identical to all their Aqua-Rite systems, except for the stick on labels.

I'm certified, supposedly- I took and passed the course, but never received any paperwork??? , on these units and the no flow issue has nothing to do with the high salt reading. How old is that puppy?

Call Goldline @ 888-921-7665. Be prepared to wait on the phone for a while and have the serial #s for both the control box and the cell on hand.

While you're waiting, check the gray 'telephone cord' coming off the flow sensor (it plugs into the bottom of the control box) - it might have gotten cut by a weed whacker or the plug is loose (also try wiggling the cord where it goes into the flow sensor and see if the "NO FLOW" light starts blinking - If it does, the unit will start producing in ~ 1 minute)

I hope this is a quick, easy and inexpensive fix for you
