Yep, gray and lumpy. It was packaged in 1lb. bags. Sold as SUPER SHOCK-IT. I was always sort of a frugal guy, so I didn't want to waste it. This forum is a perfect fit for me. Even more so now given my current economic situation.

Al, that may be related to the "warm" temperatures up your way!
Dave Knoop, Olin's pool product manager for years, told me they figured 3 - 5% loss per year for stored sealed containers. That's an AWFUL lot of fumes. But, as you note, the clumpy gray stuff has usually been opened and gotten damp.
You know, he's retired now. I wonder if he'd do an interview for PF? I'm pretty sure he's still living in Athens. (Tennesee). He's one of those "d### Yankees", ie the kind that moved here and stayed.![]()
