    Default cloudy water

I have an above ground pool. Water is a cloudy tint. can see just a little ways down. I feel like I have put every chemical I can in it. Here are my readings:
    Hardness: 200
    Free Cholorine-0
    PH-7.0
    TA-50
    CA-0-10 between

I can't seem to get my cholorine up. I have put 7 ibs bags of shock in it. I'm a new pool owner. I have the floating cholorine tablets floating around but seem not to do anything. I appreciate any help. I do not have a sand filter.

It sounds like your stabilizer is too low -- have you checked that?

Stabilizer keeps the sunlight from breaking chlorine down (photolysis) in a matter of minutes.

How are you testing? Strips? Pool store?

I'm using strips to check it right now. Thought about taking it to a pool store if it doesn't clear up.
I was using the super shock that comes in 1 lb bags and have used 7 of them so far. I've put in two bottles of stablizier, Algae stuff and some PH increaser. I've heard people use bleach sometimes do you think I should go that route.

How do I check the stablizer?

What is the ingredient of the super shock? Since your calcium hardness is 200, I'm guessing it is probably cal-hypo. Don't add any more extra stuff from the pool store. They typically don't help. You may have to ask your pool store to check your stabilizer, but just don't buy a bunch of stuff. You need to get a good test kit. We recommend the Taylor K-2006 or 2006C. See the Amazon link in my signature below. Only buy if the seller is Amato Industries.

Many of us use bleach for our chlorine. Do some reading here on the forum and also on our sister site www.poolsolutions.com What is the volume of your pool?
