    Default Pool still not clear! (Have numbers attached)

    We've been running our pump non stop for the past week. Shocked it twice with bleach.
    Today's numbers are :

    Total Chlorine = 10

    Free Chlorine = 10

    pH= 6.8

    Total Alkalinity= 80

    Cyanuric Acid = 20

    Water is definitely cleaner, but still green. Can see the steps in the shallow end.

    Any ideas? Are we on the right track or should we add something else?

    BTW - we are trying to go the BBB route. Have a salt water generator. Not sure how many gallons exactly. It's a fiberglass pool 18'x44'.

    Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!

    Doesn't really sound like you need much help, other than some encouragement to "stay the course". But . . .

    + Keep your chlorine high by adding bleach in the evening.
    + Add borax, a box at a time, 1 box per 10,000 gallons, till your pH is above 7.0. You can add 2x per day, but add through the skimmer with your pump running.
    + Add some more stabilizer AFTER you get the pool cleaned up.

    If your CYA is 20, then you need to keep your FC at 12ppm. With a vinyl liner, you are safe to go up to, but not beyond 15ppm, which will speed up the algae killing.

    How much bleach do you think we should add tonight?
