    Default looking to install a partially in-ground (endless) pool...

    hello.

    i'm looking to install a (small: 9X12 to 10X15) partially in-ground pool in my backyard this summer -- the entire space we have allotted is only 13X26, so the pool would need to be quite a bit smaller.

    i've been attracted to the endless pool brand "waterwell" -- basically a 4ft pool with a max-size of 10X15feet (which is about as big as we'd be able to install anyway). they install above-, in-, or partially-in-ground... we're thinking of recessing it about 1/2 way (2-3 feet) and build a slightly elevated deck around the pool.

    i've seen one post on the topic (which didn't look good), but would be interested in other's thoughts as the endless pool is not cheap.

    thanks for any insight, links or alternate ideas you can lend.

    (fyi: new to the forum and will happily pay the fees (but feel wary of giving so much person information: street address, etc...). confirmation email not yet received, however)

    Hello, and welcome to the forum!!

    I can't answer your questions about the pool, but just wanted to say that this is one of the safest sites you'll come across when it comes to protecting personal information--Pooldoc, the site's owner, is very internet-safety conscious, and there is a TON of information to be gained by having full access to this site.

    The pool construction gurus should be around to answer your questions shortly...

    Hi Norcal;

    I just use the information to screen out forum spammers -- they rarely can get all the bits to match. Other than that, the only time we (mods) use it is to look up your location, since certain pool questions have LOCAL or regional answers and to (rarely) call you if there's a problem with your account. (But mostly, we only do that with subscribers.)

    Subscription does the same things as info, by creating a personally identifiable trail to you, which is something the spammers try very hard to avoid.

    Regarding the endless pools, I have only one caution: TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!

    I've seen several of them installed, and found that mostly people no longer like them after a year. It's a lot of money to spend, unless you are going to enjoy it longer than that.

    Ben

    Hi Norcal,
    Let me add my welcome to the forum. Hope you find it useful and enjoyable to participate with us. I understand your reluctance to give out personal info. I'm the same way. But, we've been around here for a long time and we're the good guys and we promise you, it won't be a concern for you. If anything, we tend to go overboard in protecting our members from undesirable riff-raff that try to get membership here on the forum to cause trouble. Kind of like the overly protective parents!

    Again, welcome. Glad you found us!
