Mesh cover for above ground pool

Your site has been helpful, but now I have a question now and after browsing im still unsure. My pool is unfortunately under many trees (mostly 80 year old oaks) and the past few days tons of debris, stick, needles, leaves, etc have fallen into the pool. Now, I dont really want to get a solar cover because it would just be a pain to deal with, but any thoughts of a mesh net or cover, all i find in a search is the mesh winter covers, any suggestions?

I think what you are looking for is a cover to keep debris out in the summer?

If there is any such thing -- other than the winter covers you mention -- I haven't seen it. The problem is, a cover that would do what you want would be as heavy and expensive as the winter covers . . . and also as hard to get on and off.

Other than a lot of skimming and vacuuming, I'm not sure what the best way to care for a pool under a bunch of old oaks would be. I love trees, but I don't like them close to pools I'm servicing!

There is a kind of cover called a "leaf net" can go over even a solar cover that is very light. Otherwise, there's only the mesh safety cover that's meant to go on in the fall and come off in the spring. I've always used such a mesh safety cover on my pool, which, while an AG, is rectangular and has a welded-truss as a super-structure and uses much of the equipment that you'd use on an IG. I'm not sure you could use a safety cover on a lot of AG pools unless they were built into a deck.

I have trees around my pool, too. They are a pain in the spring when all the helicopters, buds, pollen, etc. are bad but then it goes away until fall when the leaves fall. My point is that once you get past the spring time part, they aren't that much of a problem through the summer swim season.

I tried the leaf net. Once...two years ago. It ended up getting so overloaded with water-logged leaves and
debris that it was impossible to remove without dumping most of the stuff back into the pool. It seems like
it would only be useful if I wanted to empty it every day or so or if it was on top of some other cover that
kept the leaves out of the water. I have the same issue with tree litter twice a year - right now I seem to be
on the tail end of the Spring season shedding.

Unless you want to take down the trees, I'm not sure what else you can do. With IG pools, people sometimes install hard, retractable covers. Very expensive. And sooner, or later, you have to clean off the leaves and debris.
