Bringing Taylor Test Kit into Canada is Ok according to Border Services.

Hi,

I live in Toronto and am considering driving to Niagara Falls NY to pick up a Taylor 2006 kit. Having read the posts about the issues I just called the Canadian Border Services and talked to an Agent. He said there would not be any problems and to just present my reciept and pay the HST (harmonized sales tax).

It sounds like you are preparing to do this, but haven't done so yet. I'd very much like to know how it goes when you do. If you are able to do this openly and successfully, there are a lot of people who'd like to know.
