I am wanting to shock my pool again. I am not sure which pool shock i need to buy. Regular shock, shock plus ?? I want to use something that will increase my CYA. I am having trouble getting it up. It is low <30.

Sort of depends on your pool volume. If your pool is large enough, so you can use it up, I'd suggest going to Sams Wholesale, and getting a 50# bucket ($105) of dichlor (sodium dichloro-isocyanurate) -- that's about 60% chlorine and 50% stabilizer (I know those don't add up -- you don't want to know why).
But, you don't want to store the stuff till 2012, so if you've got a small pool, you'd be better getting something smaller from Walmart even though it costs more (a lot more!) per pound.
But, do NOT get the 'goop' or "plus" shocks -- the ones with trichlor, clarifiers, water balance chems (usually borax), etc. -- those are ALWAYS a bad value, and often bad for your pool as well.

One thing to check, if you are experiencing issues keeping your CYA level up, is that you may possibly have a pool leak (especially if masked by an autofill device) or it could just be you've had plenty of rain and water replacement. How are you testing your CYA levels?
