Default Hayward northstar pump, 2 speed, how do i make a contoller to change speeds?

Hello, i have a Hayward 2 speed pump and you either hardwire it for one speed or the other.
How can i build something that will allow me to turn it off and also change between the 2 speeds?

    thanks

You need either a SPDT (single pole double throw) toggle switch on the motor end bell OR a timer and DPDT relay. Your problem is that most house electricians don't know how to work with timers and relays.

So, here's your test question, "Can you install a DPDT (double pole double throw) time clock on my 2 speed pool pump?". Say "double pole . . . ", not just DPDT. Then, if they say, "Huh?", keep looking!

Meanwhile, you might call Hayward and see if they have some custom gizmo control for 2 speed pumps.

OOPS!!! "DPST" is "Double Pole, Single Throw" not ""double pole double throw". So...does KentuckyNet want DPST or DPDT? (I'm guessing the latter).

BTW, I have a simple switch right on the pump motor for high and low speed--Hayward SuperPump. It's been all I need. The 220v twist-lock outlet is on a pool timer and GFI at the box in the basement.
