I'm looking at replacing my QuikChlor system with an Aqua Rite. My pool is apprx 12,800 gals---should I go with the 15k or 25k system? Would going with a larger system (over-sizing) take some pressure off the cell? Price isn't an issue, I want what will work best w/the pool volume.
The purpose for this whole drill is 1) QuikChlor cells are EXPENSIVE 2) I prefer the Aqua Rite's features and industry background (and lower cell cost).
I would go with the larger cell as the 15k would probably force you to run the pump longer than what you want.
In terms of cell life, cells are usually rated in amp hours. The 15k would run at lower amps but longer while the 25k would run at higher amps but shorter. So in the end, they would probably last equally long.

go with the 40k cell! I have one on my 6800 pool and it works wonderfully, You want to oversize the cell because in the long run you will have less problems with pH stability since the on time of the cell will be much shorter!

I was thinking of one of those Fancy 3 circuit Intermatics as well. But this works too.
The Goldline units can be set down to as little as 1% on time so they are pretty easy to adjust. A 15k cell set to 25% produces about the same chlorine as a 40k cell set to 10%.
