Question Energy Savings Pool Pump

Hello, we currently have a Jenair pump for our SW pool that is about 3 years old. I believe that in the summer when we run the pump about 6-7 hours (in So. California), our energy bill is about $150 extra.

I'm considering installing a pool pump to lower our energy bill. I see some Pentair models can bring the cost down to around per month.

Any advice, return on investment time, costs, vendors? I'm not sure where to start researching.

This spreadsheet compares the energy consumption of many different pumps. You will find that the VS pumps are the lowest energy users with two speeds not too far behind. Column M is the metric to look at. It gives you a direct relationship between gallons pumped per watt-hour used.
