I have the aqua rite with the 40000 gallon cell. My pool is 24000 gallons.

=======================================

I added my info to the chart.

I took the solar cover off this morning--was on for 3-4 days as we were away. Cover was really dirty....grimy....for what its worth.

Pool was cloudy. Numbers were ok with a free/total chlorine of 3.4. Added bleach and left for work.

Current numbers after work:
temp 84
free/total chlorine 6.4
combined chlorine 0
pH 7.4 alk 130 (usually 110)
cya 60
calcium 240

test with a taylor of course....i started lurking here when we got the pool 4 yrs ago. First time I haven't had crystal clear water.

pool size about 24k gallons, vinyl, swcg, DE filter.

Just added 3.3 gallons of bleach which should bump total chlorine close to 16. Looks clearer after work (now 645pm) then this am.

Is the cloudiness dead algae or something else??

90 degrees in upstate ny and its the one week each summer we tend to have guests so I'm hoping to straighten it out.

Any thoughts on the cloudiness.....

=======================================

Had a cloudy pool so pushed up the output from 37 to 50%. Usually that gives me a significant chlorine bump.

It didn't this time so I added bleach to shock the pool. My combined chlorine is 0 and the total/free is at 6.4 (was 3.4 when I discovered the cloudiness--used bleach to get the increase)). Just shocked up to about 16.

Cell/unit is 14 months old.....is the cell not working or is this a question of increased chlorine consumption (does algae or a filthy solar cover cause this). CYA level 60.

Any thoughts????

Thanks in advance

Tony
