Default need advise of what to add

we have had a lot of rain.... my pool is developing algae on the walls and floor and although the water is not green, i am seeing a slight, very slight green tint. i'm not sure what to add and in what steps. i have a 21,000 inground, sand filter.
    pool store results yesterday:
    TC: 3.1
    FC: 3.1
    ph: 8
    ta: 159
    Copper: .1
    iron: .1
The pool store did not test for CYA, said they don't do that for pools treated with chlorine!

my results today using taylor 2006 test kit:
    FC: 15
    CC: 0
    TA: 140
    ph: 7.6
    CYA: 20
also i have developed more staining, that in the past has came off using the absorbic acid, but tonight they do not. it may be a metal stain, not sure.

I know if i treat for metal i can't shock for a week, so i'm concerned about doing that since i am developing algae...so please advise as to what I should do? i don't want my pool turning green! Please let me know as soon as you can! Thanks!

I'm not a mod so take this for what it is worth. You need to worry about the algae bloom first. The staining you mention... Overnight? Common? Most stains are tannic acid. For me, earthworms and walnut bits (from squirrels in the area) do the damage, but it is strictly temporary. Being patient will work. The bleach will get them to vanish in a week or so, some times two or three weeks when I just open the pool. Have you been hitting it with heavy metals? Why do you asssume it is that? Are you sure FC 15? Is that holding? Had you just added sanitizer? Anyway, I should let the mods handle this, just wanted to try and insert stain-calmness.

thanks for trying to help. i have always had problems with copper and iron due to well water. but i have questioned myself about the reading of the clorine being 15 since it was only 3 at the pool store and i have not added any bleach since the pool store reading...but i am pretty sure i done the test for it correct...but i like you feel i should probably add more bleach tonight due to the algae being present on the walls and floors and not address the metals yet. and according to the pool store, the metals are showing a slight reading even though the report says to add 3 quarts of the metal out...but i will wait a while longer tonight before i add anything in hopes that the moderators do help...not saying that you haven't helped, you have and i do appreciate you and anyone giving me advise!

If you don't trust your results, test again and read the instructions each time on the inside of the lid... I'd put money on your results and NOT the pool store!

You do need to take care of the algae. I'm going to move your thread into the metals section to make it easier for Marie to find it. She can best advise you since you have metals in the water.
