    Default using last years chlorine

I am curios if the chlorine I had last year (whatever is left) is still good to use. I placed 2-3" tabs in the chlorinator and they are not disolving...never saw this before. The chlorine is left over from last year

Is the chlorinator open?(not to sound funny, but I myself tend to overlook the most obvious).I would just test the water to see if you have any in the water.I've used those pucks from season to season(sealed tight in my basement)with success.

Same here. Just keep them dry. Peekaboo is referring to the valve. There is a small pipe restriction between the inlet and outlet pipes. The pipe narrows down a little. This causes a slightly high pressure on the inlet side where there is a little pickoff passage to the chamber with an adjustable valve. There is another fixed passage from the chamber to the outlet side of the pipe. With the valve open a little water from the higher pressure side is passed through the chamber to the lower pressure side. If either one of these passages is blocked, or the valve closed, you get no flow through the chamber.

i've used last years chlorine before with no problem, I can not get the chlorine level up in the pool and found the tabs were not disolving...never saw that before.....

i had taken off the top of the chlorinator and ran the filter for a second to insure water was going in and it was. maybe the other side is clogged....thanks for the info

Yep...it is deceptive because with the lid off you'll usually see the outlet port flow which is the bigger one I believe, at least with my Hayward. After I load it up with pucks I'll run the pump with the lid off until the chamber just about fills then tighten the lid down. Then kill the pump to relieve pressure and make sure the lid is tight.
