Default Liner pulled out in corner, appears to be no track

I was doing some replacing the liner into the track after opening the pool this spring.

When I got to the corner that was pulled out, I tried to slip it back into the track, and I couldn't seem to find the track, so I pulled the liner out a little to look behind, and sure enough, right in the corner, there is not track. Is this how it is supposed to be?????

I would assume that there should be track all the way around the pool.

Is it possible that the track would have broke off??

Any ideas of a fix, or will I need to get a pool expert in to look at it.

    Thanks for any input

What little I know of liner tracks is that the corner, which is curved, is a separate piece from the straight lengths that run down the sides. There's usually an extra hunk of white rubber, about 6-10" long, jammed in the track AFTER the liner goes in call, fittingly, "liner lock".

Carl, I think the "liner lock" you are talking about is a piece of rope material that is jammed between the coping and the top of the lip of the liner. I have rope stuffed in 2 of the corners, and multiple coins stuck in the other 2 corners. Does this sound about right for what you are talking about???

Well, after further examination the track piece in the corner is definately broke off. I can see what looks like a piece of cast metal up near the coping that has a 1/2moon break on it, and can feel junk down in the area in the corner between the liner and the pool wall.

Is this something that a novice like me can repair, or do I need to call in an expert????

    Thanks,

For liner locks, i have this now to prevent, hopefully, liners falling out of the track.

My problem is not so much the liner lock, my problem is the 90degree track that is underneath the corner coping cap appears to be gone.

Has anyone tried to replace this corner track????
