Default Identifying the grout/caulk between brick patio and coping

I have an in ground pool that is bordered by a brick patio; the brick patio is set in sand with no cement or mortar. The seam between the patio and coping has been filled with a material that I cannot identify and I was hoping someone in this forum might be able to A. help me identify the material and B. help me figure out where I can get more of it. The material that is currently in the seam comes in a dry mixture that resembles sand. It is placed in the seam dry and then you just sprinkle it with water and the material solidifies, adheres itself to the brick/coping and remains extremely flexible. Great stuff but I have no idea where to get more of it. I have pictures of the material in the before and after state but cannot post here. Any ideas on what this stuff is and where I can get more would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Is there anyway I can post the pictures of the item I am trying to identify? I noticed that I do not have this privilege but assume that someone does.

    Thanks again - great forum!

Unfortunately, being able to post a picture is not something a resticted user can do. Hopefully though, from your description of the product, someone will come along who knows what you are talking about. Hang tight for a bit! And you are right. This is a GREAT forum!

Did you see them put it in? That is how you are positive it looked like sand when they put it in?

I have seen people put sand in between the coping and the deck to take up space and use less caulk. then they use the self leveling caulk that is liquidy and dries like rubber.

Anyone have any ideas where I might go to get this material identified? I have a sample of the dry product.

    Google polymeric sand.

    Hope this helps.

Just reinstalled brick around my pool.what you are looking for is polymeric sand. It's a little more work than sweeping in sand but does a great job.I have the polymeric sand in my patio no ants and very few weeds. That's why I reset the bricks in my pool deck.Just be careful to sweep or very lightly blow off the dust on top of the brick before misting down the brick.
