Unfortunately, being able to post a picture is not something a resticted user can do. Hopefully though, from your description of the product, someone will come along who knows what you are talking about. Hang tight for a bit! And you are right. This is a GREAT forum!
Did you see them put it in? That is how you are positive it looked like sand when they put it in?
I have seen people put sand in between the coping and the deck to take up space and use less caulk. then they use the self leveling caulk that is liquidy and dries like rubber.

I actually put it in myself. The previous home owner had soem leftover from the original job.
