Just some starter questions:

What size and type pump and filter do you have?

Do you have a low drain on the pool as well?

Do you have a ball valve in line with the skimmer that allows you to decrease the vacuum there?

Is your water high enough in the skimmer?

Are you filling the vacuum hose from the return to blow out all the air in it?
