    Default Problem with a heater

Hello I have an old RBI Galaxy Pool Heater. the model is a PH 250S I believe and I am having problems with it. it is a gas heater if I jump the TH-PP to the TH I can get the heater to fire up fora short period then it kicks off again. I believe my problem may be with the thermostat control as it has become very hard to turn and now requires pliers. does anyone know where i can get a replacement part? Also, I was considering just wiring a switch to the TH and TH-PP connectors so that i could flip a switch to manually jump them to the on position and turn it off when i desired. is there a risk to doing this? The local pool guys have no parts for this guy.
