    Default Pump Run Time Question

Any rules of thumb regarding how much time the pump should run since I now am using the BBB method? I primarily ran the pump before as a method of chlorination. Obviously it is used to filter the water but I am thinking I don't need to run it as much as I used to since I am now chlorinating by adding bleach manually rather than dissolving tablets in a feeder.

I usually run mine for about 8-10 hrs. per day. You just want to be able to turn over your water at least once per day. I probably don't need that long, but I usually turn in on late morning and off in the evening about an hour or so after I add my bleach. So it runs probably 11:00 to about 7:00 or so.

BTW -- Just an FYI --- evening is the best time to add your bleach to your pool. That way all of it can be used for sanitizing the water and not lost to the sun.

Mine runs 6 hours at night and another 2 hours during the day if the dogs have been in the pool so the dog hair can get skimmed off the surface.

Those 6 hours seem to be all it needs to turn the volume over once.
