Not if you are still shocking the pool because the fumes may hurt the cover. If, however, your chlorine levels are not high and you are just filtering, then it is OK to have the cover on.

Well patience is not one of my virtues. In a nutshell I pulled off the winter cover without draining the water and made a mess out of my nice clear pool. Pool is no longer 'greenish' just very cloudy. On top of that the pollen in our area is about as bad as it gets.
Can I put on the solar cover to keep most of the pollen out of the pool while I am trying to clear up the water?
