Default jandy lIte 2 fires when jumped but not from remote

I have a Jandy Lite 2 nat gas heater that works when fireman's connection is jumped. When attempting to use remote the heater does not turn on. The switch closes to a short when the wires are disconnected from the heater. Cleaned all contacts, everything seems to work but heater still won't fire remotely. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If the heater fires when you short the fireman's switch, and that is where the automation (remote) is hooked up, then the problem is in the wire, or the automation. I realize that you are getting a short on the wire from the automation. Try disconnecting the wire at the automation end, twist the wires together, and see if it fires then. Then you will have verified the wire.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried that and went as far as replacing the wire and trying again. No luck! Thanks again!
