    You would help yourself a lot if you picked up a cheap drops based kit on one of those trips to Kmart. The strips are pretty worthless for what you're trying to do.

    Secondly, if your pool is full of sunken organics (leaves, sticks, bugs), you are wasting a lot of chlorine trying to sterilize them. I would pull that cover off and vacuum them out ASAP if you continue to use Cl.
    Again... I'm using test strips (oh the shame... Ben will be shipping his kit this week... Hooray) and it's not a whole lot of stuff on the bottom (just what the wind manages to blow under the loop-loc cover. I may take the cover off temporarily to brush the walls.
