    Also, WalMart sells CYA in a 4 lb container. Last few years I found it in a 2 lb container in the section for spas and hot tubs, but this year they didn't seem to have it...don't know if they were out or if they're not carrying it anymore.

    Follow label directions for amount to target 20 ppm in the pool, but don't broadcast it over the pool like it says to...instead, put it in a knee hi or old tube sock and hang it in front of a return. That way it won't wash out when you backwash your filter.

    OK I am keeping my chlorine up high and since thurs I have added 24 gallons of bleach should I be seeing a change by now or am i just impatient the water still looks to be the same I have been brushing every day how much more bleach do i need to add and when do u think i will start seeing a change down to 4 weeks before my party found me some stab at lowes so i will add it once i get it cleared up . Have been adding bleach at least twice a day .

    With no stabilizer in the water, make sure that at least one of your bleach additions is happening in the evenings so that the bleach has the whole night to work on the "stuff" in your water without the sun degrading it.

    Is the pressure on your filter rising? How often are you backwashing? How does your water look? Is it still blue/cloudy, or is it green still?

    You should start seeing results soon, if you're able to consistently keep the chlorine level above 10.
