Hi, sjrbt and welcome! Just for your info (and anybody other new people who may be reading this thread) --- instead of making a new post if you think of something you forgot or see a typo or whatever a couple minutes after you post ---- you can EDIT the post. There is a blue edit button on the lower right of the post. See ya around the forum!
If the bump arm doesn't rise as the tank gets full and has no resistance when moved, it's an "E" clip issue for sure!![]()
Let me tell you what to look for, the shaft in the center of the nest is clipped to the plastic plates (tube sheets) and secured to the lid. If you had the little beastie open earlier this season and the shaft didn't fall out, you probably didn't take the tank lid off the shaft, or the shaft would have dropped down.
It sounds like you've had this apart before, so shouldn't need much guidance - but I'll be here anyway, if you have questions once it's open.![]()

I had the same issue on mine, It was the clip $2.25 for a new one and im good again.
A bit of a pain to install the clip, but if you need any help just ask.
Don't forget you will also need a washer that sits above the clip.
