    Default Pump timer

    Hi all,

We're planning a month long trip this summer. I don't want to come home to pea soup so I was planning to open, stablize, and then put the pump on a timer. I use the BBB method and have someone who can add CL & test as needed for me while I'm gone. I'd rather not run the pump 24/7.

Can someone tell me what's the minimum and/or optimum amounts of time to run the filter on a 16,000 gal AG pool?

    Thanks,

I have a 12,500 AGP and run my pump 6 hours during the night and 2 hours in the afternoon. The afternoon runtime is to activate the PoolSkim while we're swimming so it catches the dog hair.

You're lucky to have someone who'll add Cl and do the testing. Maybe you can set your timer so the pump is on while the person is there. Otherwise, they'll have to mix the Cl manually using the net pole or a brush.

    Thanks AnnaK,

I didn't think about having the pump running while my friend is here. Good idea.
