Re: Multiport repair
Waste, thanks for the link to that previous thread. I have a veteran pool service owner who has been an invaluable help in this church pool renovation/operation odyssey. He has always told us to glue the gasket with aforementioned Permatex. I like your idea not to use adhesive at all, though I can hear him telling me that it won't work. Your posts mention using lubricant liberally when making the replacement. I've not lubricated any of the spider gaskets I've replaced. Should I lube the gasket's top edge (1/16") or the flat surface that contacts the gasket, or both? Do I need to worry about lube getting into the channels? Thanks.
Hal
P.S. We had a great Fourth of July. First lake party I've been to in about 20 years, with a band(disappointing) and lots of barbecue(great). It sure brought back a lot of memories. We had to stop the fireworks show after three of our mortar shells exploded below 75' high, showering hot embers into the spectators. No one badly hurt, just a couple of minor burns, Thank God!
