    Default Too Much Liquid Sunshine!

    ARGH!

I'm really hating all this rain. Normally we are swimming by early May. This year we were in 3 weekends ago--the only time the water was warm enough and it wasn't raining.

Day after day it rains and my water stays in the low 70's. My solar panels cannot do the job having one twice gotten the water to 78 since we were last in (when it was 80).

I keep adding chlorine to make up for what's been diluted by all this rain.

Now it's the middle of June and usually by this time we are swimming all the time.

We are in the same boat. It rains almost every day! Today is the first day in a while that it did not, although they are saying maybe some showers tonight. Today was the first day I got in my pool. June 14!!! It finally hit 80 and I got in late this afternoon to vacuum. Of course, an hour and a half later, my husband comes out to tell me thunderstorms are heading our way and did I want help putting the solar cover back on the pool. Unbelievable! Like Carl, by this time I have normally been swimming most every day for 3 or 4 weeks. Crazy weather!!!

Here on the left coast we are in a similar situation. Not much rain but too many clouds and temperatures below 75. Our water was up to temp in late May but hasn't been all June. At least the water has looked good

The rainy season continues...the ONLY positive is I don't have to refill my pool periodically--it's ALWAYS full!

    Had to chime in...

Here it is, first day of summer and we've had 1 (one) swim day this year and at that time the water temp was a scorching 69*. I installed solar panels this year and haven't had a chance yet to see how they work. I'm fairly certain that we've had about a dozen or so days of sun since May 1. And maybe 5 of those was full day sun.

It's never ending... now they're forecasting a Nor'easter for the next few days. Highs near 60.

    Unbelievable!

    WE ARE FINALLY SWIMMING AGAIN!

Last week the water FINALLY reached just about 80 AND it wasn't raining so we could swim for the first time since mid-May. And again yesterday--and hopefully today!

The water was actually 81 deg this morning and it's (mostly) sunny. I may even do a few laps!
