Default chlorine feeder bypass to increase flow

I want to install a chlorine feeder (BLUE SEAL #09067) for ocassional use, like going away for 2 weeks, but don't like its restricted flow. Would plumbing a bypass around it with a ball valve in it be of any help or would the feeder stop working the minuit I cracked the bypass valve even slightly open?

The feeder certainly wouldn't work as efficiently with some of the water bypassing it--to me, it wouldn't be worth installing the feeder just to see if it will work efficiently enough. Have you tried just using a floater and having a neighbor or somebody refill it occasionally?

No, I have never used floaters (Even being told for 10 years they work great). I have alway thrown pucs in the skimmer when I went away (Even though I was always told not to do that). If my plan doesn't work I'll stop being stubborn and listen. Thanks.
