Would salt levels in the 4200ppm rage damage anything ?

It really depends on your SWG. For some it might trigger a high salt fault, for others it might be too low for them to operate properly.
Retired pool store and commercial pool maintenance guy.
My current system recommends 3000 - 3600 ppm but I just bought a replacement cell and they recommend 4000 - 4200ppm..
So, it's only the cell that would be the concern, not any other hardware?
