I'm getting a new liner in my AG 18ft and was wondering if i could just install it over the other old one.The old one is fine,just a couple cuts and faded real bad.Will this work or is this a bad idea?thanks![]()

Sounds like you have an overlap liner (ie, no bead nor track to tuck it into). While I've never heard of doubling up a liner like that, I doubt it would lead to harm. However, a liner change is a good opportunity to 'refresh' the floor of the pool which, of course, would require the removal of the old liner![]()
I'll be following this thread to see if someone else has a concrete reason against doubling up the liners.

Ok thanks.Yea i didint know if it would hurt anything or not,so thought id ask and see.
When we installed a new liner a couple of years ago, we cut the old liner around the perimeter of the floor of the pool and left the old liner's bottom in place under the new liner. Just another barrier to keep weeds, tree roots, etc. from penetrating.
