    Default Pump Run Times

What should my minimum pump run time be now that winter is here and water temps have dropped. I have a 12000G pool with an aqua rite swg located in South Florida. I have already dropped the swg output to 20% and still get chlorine readings around 5.0. I would rather cut pump run time and save electricity than just turn down the swg. I have already gone from my summer settings of 10 hours run time with swg at 40% to 6 hours run time and swg at 20%. I guess what I need to know is what is the minimum pump run time in terms of achieving adequate circulation of the water? I am thinking of going to 4 hours. Thanks in advance.
I live in South Florida. I have owned my first pool for 6 years now. 12,200 gal. with exposed aggregate finish, spa with spill over, cartridge filter, pop up bottom cleaning jets, Chlorine by swg. I am eternally grateful for The Pool Forum!!

15'x30' Rectangle w/ ovals at ends 12.2K gal IG pool; Bleach now as SWCG died.; Hayward 1200 cartridge filter; Emerson 2HP pump; 6hrs; Taylor K-2006 La Motte Borate Test Strips; utility; summer: ; winter: ; iPad; PF:9.8

There really isn't a magic number. Try it and see if it works and adjust from there. If you aren't swimming, there's no real concern about pathogens, so if the water stays clean enough to suit you, you're fine.
