Default Re: Bad Temp Sensor - Pool Pilot Total Digital

    Sean,

I called tech support this morning. Spoke with Anthony who was very helpful and polite. They told me the housing is is held in place by an O-Ring so I should be able to pull it down then out, but I cannot. My daughter has two fairly muscular male friends coming over today so I will see if the they can do it. Well they came and nobody can make it move, even with channel locks, so they will send me that as well.

As regards the "Bad Temp Sensor" message, he said to plug the cable and pull it in and out at both ends, as it states in the manual. Have done this as described above, sometimes it works sometimes not.

He stated if the temperature reading goes up, when one turns on the unit, then the cable is bad, if it goes down then the sensor is bad. It actually does both, Greg stated that this means both are bad.

As regards setting the chlorine generator to manual, I spoke with Rich (at 182) who suggested the following:

Go down to the "Installer Menu" hold select button down until menu comes up about 20 to 30 seconds. Go to "Select System" then select and set to "Purifier" instead of "Total Control" by using up and down arrows hit select again. Then red light comes on, wait a few seconds and then set the percentage one wants to use. He suggested starting with 75% and then adjust either up or down depending on the chlorine number one wants.

He further informed me that the unit has a 2 year warranty. That's great as most electrical stuff today only carries a 1 year warranty. The unit is only 4 months old.

It could be, as this problem has been ongoing from the start, that it was more related to being banged around by the shippers than any fault with the unit itself. This can happen with electrical stuff being shipped to Hawaii, it would not be the first time.

Your tech support has greatly improved and is as perfect as one could hope for, thank you.

I will let you know how it goes.

    Aloha.
