    Default perflex grid damage

I power washed my grid (fingers) and caused some of the fabric to unweave just enough to let a green cloud of dirty DE powder shoot out of the returns for about 10 secords upob start-up. I wrapped electrical tape around the damaged part of the fingers, but no luck. Why didnt the tape stop the problem?

probably too much pressure in the filter to hold the tape and grids and de filter tto the micron level I think. Best bet would to find a store or site that sells individual fingers and replace the damaged ones. Also, don't power wash your filter, use a hose.

    Cool Re: perflex grid damage

Last year (... OK 2006) there was a post here about using hot glue to seal small holes in the fingers. You can give that thread a read and see if it will be applicable in your situation - other alternatives are mentioned as well.

Good luck with solving this!! BTW - tape doesn't stick well to the fabric of the fingers, it may seem to when dry but the 'wicking' of the fabric breaks the seal quickly
