Ask for technical support and have the model and serial number of the filter ready. I did that with Hayward since my filter and pump aren't a matched pair and they were able to reassure me they work fine together--6 years later they are still fine.

I am sure from the owners manual the basket stays in.

Tech support is not good since they sold company. When I did talk to them but they did not seem to know much.
Just repeated the manual says 150 lbs but they also added that the sand level should be about 2” below this basket.
That would be only 100 lbs of sand. Seems like a big difference for me to get wrong and hurt cleaning power of filter.
Hard to belive the manual is wrong but with 150lbs the sand level would be about 8” from the top
