Don't put anymore Muriatic in, your already a touch on the acidic side at 7.4 ph. Check your CYA levels in about 3-5 days, then add more if necessary to get to the correct level range.
As you already noticed, you need some chlorine....

The pool store said to ad 2 gal acid to get the alk down. then re adjust the ph.
what to do?
You should only add enough acid to get the pH down to 7.0, which drops your alk a little bit, then aerate the pool to raise the pH back up without raising the alk again. Then you add acid again to pH 7.0 to ratchet the alk down, then aerate to raise pH. By putting 2 gallons of acid in your pool with a rather perfect pH, you're now way below 7.0, which is very acidic and can very well damage your liner. You need to retest your pH, add Borax to raise it to above 7.0, and then read the steps for lowering alk that are stickied at the top of the Alk and Calcium forum. Oh yeah, and STOP LISTENING TO THat POOL STORE! Sorry to shout, but they're gonna ruin your liner for you with that kind of advice.
Better get some chlorine in there....
