A broken stand pipe in my sand filter ended up spewing a lot of sand into the pool this spring.
Regular vacuuming just pushes it around. Any tips out there?

Having done construction and service for 4 pool companies in 4 states starting in 1988, what I know about pools could fill a couple of books - what I don't know could fill libraries
If your vacuum is actually working, then you need to direct the output to waste rather than back in the pool.

Got it done. Opened up the skimmer supply all the way and cut the main drain supply back. This was enough to quickly remove the sand without just pushing it around.
