    As long as it's pool sand, you are okay. Play sand etc. are not the right thing.

    Green water is a chemistry issue, not a filter issue.

    Thanks John....above it all the pool water is still super cloudy...and I thought using the slkimmer sock would have atleast taken care of "that" problem....thats why I questioned the sand itself...

    The cloudiness is dead algae, which just shows that you are making progress. Keep the chlorine level up and the filter running!
