Default PH test with Taylor 2006k test kit

I have the above test kit and when I test my water it tells me my ph is around 7.2. The same day I can take my water to stores 3 of which use the taylor drop kit method and they tell me my ph is 7.6-7.8 depending on the store. I have a cheap pentair test kit and when I test ph with it I also get around 7.6-7.8 which is consistent with the stores (test strips also show range of 7.4-7.8). The pentair kit has me add 2 drops of thiosulfate (chlorine neutralizer) before testing if the ph is over 1.5 ppm which mine is. The Taylor test does not say anything about doing this when testing ph, but just for fun I thought I would try it with that kit too and when I added the 2 drops of thiosulfate, and tested I got 7.6. Therefore my question is should i be adding the thiosulfate when testing ph with the Taylor kit ? Does thiosulfate itself have a high ph or affect ph reading in any other way other than neutralizing the chlorine ?

    Thanks

The tayor reagent will work correctly up to aout 15 ppm FC..how high is your chloirne. Also, how old is your reagent?
Addint thiosulfate will casue a slight pH rise and the taylor pH reagent already inclused the thiosulfate and their cormparator block is compensated for this.
