    Default light film in bottm of pool

    I have a 18ft round pool.just bought a new sand filter and pump for it.But im still getting the light as powder dirt in the bottomI thought it was the old 20 yr old pump ,I only run it about 3 hrs in the evening,is that the reason?It doesint go away unless i get out the floor cleaner,but it comes right back the next day.suggestions please?thank you.

    Have you checked to make sure that your pump isn't too big for the filter, forcing sand back out into the pool?

    thanks for he replys,It came as a kit,pump and filter together from a local pool business.I ill check out the link.

    Jan may be right. Many pool stores sell pumps to customers that are way too powerful for their pool size and filter size. Just because it came as a kit does not mean that it is a good match. Many customers think that because they got a bigger pump means it is gonna clean better when in fact, too big of a pump will not clean as well as Jan noted above.
