    Default Chlorine level

    Another green pool story. here are my levels, wondering if my CYA is too high (I had pucks in the skimmers for the first week)

    CC=24ppm
    PH=7.3
    CYA=80

    Ummmm --- unless you are going for the Guinness Book of World Records, I have never heard of a CC of 24. I think you need to retest and be sure you use a drops-based kit. We need FC, TC, CC (at least two of these three measurements) and also ph, alk, cya and calcium hardness if it is not a vinyl pool. Also need to know how big your pool is and then somebody here will try and help you get your pool cleared.

    To add to Watermom's advice, take the pucks out of the pool--your CYA is already plenty high.

    Keep your Cl at 20 or above by testing and adding enough bleach to get back up there 2-3 times daily, keep the pump running, backwash as needed, and brush daily....it will clear!
