    Unhappy Any advice?

Ok, so opened er up today. The strong storm three weeks ago blew part of the cover into the pool dumping some NASTY water and several leaves in it. The next evening I dumped a whole bottle of algaecide 60 in there and recovered the pool. Upon cover removal today it really wasn't that bad. Just a bunch of worms, leaves n stuff and a slight "cloudy" look to the pool. I used the leave net and pulled out as much as I could, vacuumed and then let the barracuda get as much as it could after that. I put in the 2nd bottle of algaecide in today and the chlorine in the skimmer. I checked the levels and the ph was decent, slightly low and the alkalinity was good too? Where should I go from here.

Oh...BTW...After filling it for 3 hours to a nice level for the skimmer to desire, and after all that work, the #@$% hose blew off of the aqualuminator. SOOOO I lost all the EXTRA freakin water I put in it and am in the process of doing it again..(filling). So...I have to wait till tomorrow to start circulating.

Should I be leaving the chlorine in the skimmer for now? When do I if I need to "SHOCK" the water??? Please...any advice is welcome.
Thanks guys...glad to have this site back on my "favorites" it sure has taught me a lot.

    Happy swimming.

Post a complete set of current water testing results taken with a drops-based kit (no test strips) and then somebody here can better advise you. I will say that algaecide is a better preventative than taking care of an algae problem that has already started. We also need to know exactly (ingredients) what all you have put in the pool, what type of chlorine you are using, etc. Post back with your numbers and we'll help you get it cleared up.
