Default cloudy pool, not sure why?

saw it was cloudy yesterday - couldn't see the deep end.

chlorine was nonexistent - busy at work past 4 days - forgot to test water - my mistake!

so i added several gallons of chlorine overnight, now water reading are: using taylor drop kit

    TC 5.6
    FC 4.6
    TA 50
    CA 210
pH 7.0 (been running it low for a few weeks to try to reduce the scale)

35000 gal, concrete in ground pool with DE filter.

Just curious on your thoughts why it was cloudy? algae/microorgs?

If your numbers are right, then you have a CC (combined chlorine) reading of 1.0 which means you are fighting something. You don't say what your cya reading is, so I can't recommend how high, but you need to shock the pool several times a day. Also, run the pump 24/7 for now while you are trying to clear the water. You want your TC (total chlorine) and your FC(free chlorine) to be the same which will mean that your CC is zero. Keep us posted how things are going.

That's all it takes! My pool will have algae form in two days if something happens and I let the chlorine go to near zero.
