Default Does Size Matter with a SWG?

I have an AG Dough Boy, 16x32 with deep end to 6 feet with approx 14,000 gallons. Looking into an Autopilot Pool Pilot Digital Salt Chlorine Generator DIG220 - Complete System with either:

    DIG36 - Up to 20,000 gallons
    DIG48 - Up to 40,000 gallons
    DIG60 - Up to 50,000 gallons

The prices for each are about $100 apart. I'm gussing that if I get an oversized SWG, say the DIG48, I would be able to run the SWG at a lower level or for less time, saving wear and tear on the SWG Cell.

Is this true? Are there any other considerations, positive / negative in selecting an oversized SWG for a smaller pool?

    Thanks - Bob

It's always a good idea to ovesize the cell if you can. If it were my pool I woudl go with the sc48 cell. You are right in that it will allow a lower output percentage or shorter pump run time and that will translate into longer cell life in most cases.
