    Default Pool Volume

My pump, Pinnacle 1.5hp uprated, needs replacing and I have been fairly sure that it as well as my DE filter, 36 sq ft have been woefully too small for my pool. I have an Infinity Lazy L - 18' x 34' x 43' (3.5 to 8 ft deep) http://internationalswimmingpools.com/port_stock.html
Does anyone have a ballpark idea of the volume? The equipment I'm using suggest 24,000 gallons, but I suspect that is way off.

My pool is hopper-shaped, 18 x 36, with the same 3.5-8 ft deep, and it contains 29K gallons.

The 1.5 hp is probably plenty, this link for the main pages goes over the pump size. Usually a pump is sized plenty big but the filter will be off.

If that is a link to the company that installed the pool, have your tried asking them the volume. Otherwise, it's a case of diagramming and measuring the depths in your pool to get an idea.

You can also search the forum on 2-speed pumps, which are recommended to help electric bills.
