    Default Solar Cover Reel

I know that they are not that expensive, but has anyone made a homemade solar cover reel? Some of the ones Ive seen look like nothing more than a skinny pole with a crank handle one one end.
    Thanks
    John

You should do a search on past posts. Matt4x4 has one that was made, Huskerfan and myself have all homemade reels. There are pictures, component lists and instructions. It is very inexpensive and they are much sturdier than the ones you buy, they also work much easier too. Mine can be operated with one person and even one hand to put on or take off and it leaves the cover and reel out of the way of the pool.

I tried searching first but nothing came up, I'll try using your names as a reference.

Here is one of the posts from this site

here is one of the posts from our alter-ego TFP, this one has a picture of Matt's he had made, mine is very similar. We used black iron pipe into the ground with concrete and the reel is aluminum conduit. It works really well and cost was super minimal
