Default latest results and pool is hard on eyes...

My eyes are not that comfortable in our pool, not sure why. Here is the latest:
    fc: 1
    cc: 0
    tc: 1
    ph: 7.4
    alk: 50
    cal: 150
    cya: 60
    gallons: 28K

    thinking about:
    14 lbs of baking soda (6 lbs, re-test, then 2lbs re-test until 14)
    25 lbs of calcium

does this make sense? And why are my eyes smarting? I thought that was related to PH and my PH looks fine...

Looks like you ALK is low. Should be at least 100-130 ish. I'd do baking soda for sure. Start small and maybe add 8-10 pounds and see what that does in 24 hours.

With a cya of 60 you should have your chlorine at a minimum of 5ppms. With an alkalinity of 50, calcium at 150 and ph at 7.4, your pool is slightly acidic. I would bump the alk up with baking soda, as traceyb said, and it should take your ph up slightly also. If you have a vinyl liner you don't need calcium, but if you have a plaster pool you will have to take your calcium up to 250.
